Da Vinci Code & last night's episode
For anyone who’s read “Da Vinci Code,” did you think last night’s episode was a rip off?

Why do you say everything is a rip off? They can be inspired by or just similar to. I think it’s the latter…doubt they even read the book.

Seems far-fetched. The book was a #1 best-seller for about two years. Doubt someone who writes for a living hasn’t read it.

Creative... Did you come up with that on your own Carlton or rip it off from someone else?

Re: Da Vinci Code & last night's episode
I think someone could have read the book, liked it, and then – since they write for a living – used it as a chance to sort of write their own version at their work.

Can they legally do that?

Re: Da Vinci Code & last night's episode
Yes, Cookie because they didn’t rip off Da Vinci Code, which would mean the characters would be looking for the Holy Grail around Europe. Instead it just had them looking for clues around Little Town on a treasure hunt. More of a parody if anything…otherwise just a similar story, both based on treasure hunts, nothing more nothing less. Either way, it’s creative license.

Re: Da Vinci Code & last night's episode
I loved David Brown’s novel and highly recommend it to those readers out there. (Do kids still read? Or are they more of a “Henry Potter” or nothing kind of generation?)
By the way, if you haven’t read it, check out “Angels and Demons.” Equally as good.

Re: Da Vinci Code & last night's episode
I found the book to use horrible grammar and be completely contrived.

Well that’s your opinion Carlton. I thought the book was brilliant and I also loved the last TAOHA episode.
So there! ::smirks::
